Sammy then changed his mind and gave (read: threw at) Freddie the lion to play with. Funny stuff.

A serious discussion at our house.

Sammy got out his big Crocs today. (size 10/11, if anyone was wondering)

They fit - hooray! But along with this growth, comes a serious question.

Looking at his shoe Sammy asks, "Oh. Is that Percy or Oliver, Mommy?"

Mr. 100 Percentile

Freddie Freds had his four-month (FOUR MONTH!!) well-check this morning.

Here's the breakdown:
weight 19.9 lbs (over 100 percentile!)
height 27.25 inches (over 100 percentile!)
head 16.5 inches (50 percent)

Woo-hoo! This proves two things.
1. Mommy has really good milk
2. Freddie is NOT (thank goodness) "all head" or a "lollipop"

Great Minnesota Get-Together

We had a super morning at the State Fair! We traded Baby Freddie for my best bud Cal (or, we left Leah with Ike and Freds), and did all kinds of awesome stuff you can't do when there are babies around!

We saw baby animals, we rode four rides - even the River Ride with all four of us! - and, of course, we ate... all said and done the four of us shared: a chocolate malt, smores, corn fritters, a soft pretzel, corn dogs, a blooming onion and a big bucket of cookies! Mmmmm....

Cal and I rode two rides all by ourselves - the train and a firetruck ride. Not sure we felt 100 percent comfortable on our own. Next year, though, we're all over it.

We did so much in our few hours there, but it's late and I can't remember it all. All I know is it was soooo fun!


A great ending to a great morning - souvenirs and cookies!

No, really.

I was talking to my mom while driving home this monrning. When I hung up Sammy insisted that it was Jacob. Here's a snipit of our convo:

Sammy: That was Daddy on the phone.

Me: No, it was Nana.

Sammy: It was my daddy.

Me: Sammy, I was on the phone. I'm sure it was Nana.

Sammy: You maybe think it was Nana. Really it was my daddy.

Nana and Ba flew up on Thursday to spend the weekend with us. We had lots of fun. We played in the backyard, we walked to the little store, we went to Choo Choo Bob's and played trains, we played more at our red house, and we went to the Global Market. I even helped Nana bake cornbread and put chocolate and peanuts on a pie! All this in three days!!! It was a great visit!

Oh, and Ba held my little brother for hours and hours while Nana (and Mommy) went scrapping and created these awesome pages! Here are the pages Nana made:

Boys are boys, part II

Sammy made Freddie laugh for the first time today - by making farting noises in his face. (And probably spitting on his a great deal, too, I imagine.) Freddie loved it.

"I'm a mailman!"

Sammy had lots of fun at MCM yesterday - we were there for over two hours! We spent a lot of time in "Our World" where Sammy donned the mail carrier bag and set off throughout the exhibit delivering mail to all the different mailboxes.


Then, back to the post office to collect more mail.


He even let me help.


Freddie didn't help, but he smiled a bunch.


Jacob couldn't do much because he got hurt. (JK, Sammy gave him the crutches from the uniform shop.)


Yay! The city bus is no longer under construction.


This boy loves to drive.


The "George the Monkey" (aka Curious George) exhibit is pretty fun, too. Sammy likes to work the conveyor belt.


He sent many blocks through.

Sammy had so much fun at the museum yesterday he even requested to go there today instead of his other favorite place, Choo Choo Bob's. (Yeah, we don't go to the museum on Saturdays. Yikes.)

Compassionate or practical?

During one of Freddie's recent diaper changes, Daddy decided to give me a fake pile-driver (that's a old wrestling hold Daddy learned as a kid). The second Freddie saw this, he broke out in tears. I wonder if he truly was concerned for me or if he was thinking "I must be next!"

Poop talk.

This evening's conversation, went as follows...

Jacob: What do you do when you have to go poop?

Sammy: Sit on the potty and take the biggest poop ever. Like you, Dada.

That's right, people. Those buns are Fuzzi.

Hey, Erin, look - it's your quilt again! (Yeah, it's pretty sad - Freddie's having to use Sammy's because you didn't quilt one for him.)

Grandma and Papa's Visit

Last week Grandma and Papa came to see us and stayed for a whole week! Here are some pictures from their visit. It was a fun time!
