Our snowy Easter

It snowed on Easter. That just doesn't happen in Texas. Sammy and I made the most of it, though, and while Jacob went back to church last night to play in the second service and Freddie was snug in bed for the night, we went out and played in the snow.

An Easter cake. By Jess.

I took about two dozen pictures of the cake, but none of them really did it justice. Plus you can't smell or taste a picture. But trust me, this is the perfect Easter cake. It's going to be our new tradition. We all loved it. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the family is going through a "berry" phase right now - happily embracing any and all signs of spring/summer on the horizon.

Return of the blue bunny ears

It's just a fact. My kids look good in bunny ears.

Spring? Sike!

After about five days in the 30s/40s with a bit of sunshine I was feeling optimistic. We were wearing spring jackets and hoodies and leaving the mittens at home. Then this morning I awoke to snow. As I look out my window snow continues to fall. At least Sammy is happy to be outside shoveling.

He's cute. But he's trouble.

I want to eat your camera.

I will scale great heights (er, up to 32ish inches) to reach said camera.
Photobucket

Ah-ha! Small one distracted by Mother throwing object (much like a dog would be).

Outdoor photo shoot.

It was in the 40s again today so I took Freddles out for a few pictures. He was amazed with the new surroundings, and kept trying to leave the dry, clean quilt. (For those of you who don't know spring in Minnesota is a mudpit, with chance of snow.)

And can you keep that baby away from me?

The filthy age.

Freddie is motoring around and into everything these days. Babygates are up, but let's be honest - they're just to keep him from tumbling down the stairs. He is all over the house, slithering and crawling, which means his clothing is constantly covered in snow melt-off (i.e. mud) and dog hair, the dog freely licks his face so he sometimes smells like dog breath (mmmmm...), and he is usually crusty with food.

Yeah, all that and he's still sweet.

Who me? Filthy? (as he tries to get the dog bone from under the chair and chew on it)

Leave your kid with me.

I'll feed him a delicious meal of whatever I can throw together in the 30 seconds one of four kids doesn't need me. Then he'll promptly push away the food or dump it out, smear it around the table and wear the plate (and any residual food) on his head. I love you, Isaac!

A rave for Beco Baby Carriers!

Wondering how Freddie enjoyed Disney World? From the comfort of his Beco Butterfly!

Photobucket

This made traveling through the Disney parks so much easier - instead of lugging a 20ish plus pound baby in and out of a stroller to get on the people mover, the monorail, and on/waiting in (sometimes loooong) line for various rides, I wore him. It was so comfortable and convenient that by the end of the trip I opted to wear him and we rented a single stroller for Sammy. This was the single best item I took with us on the trip. Very handy!

He even took daily naps in it!
