Sammy, Freddie and Jack have friends and family all over the map so we have a blog to keep in touch with everyone!

Hi Jess! Just recently came across your blog (linked from Kristen's!). When I was teaching, I bought several plastic containers (about the size of shoe boxes) and the students sorted the books by genre. Kinda hard to teach little boys the difference between historical fiction and sci-fi ;) but ya'll could sort by topic--books about vehicles, Dr. Suess books, chapter books, series books, etc. into each tub. Great early-literacy lessons! Then if it was still too much, you could always just use the tubs to rotate the books daily/weekly. Good luck!
I have another one that I want to do. Get baskets/bins/containers and put the books in so that you can sort from front to back so they can see the front of each book. Then they don't have to take out every book to see the title. And it's much easier to put away.
I did bins for Gage, got them at Wal Mart but saw some cute ones at Target-canvas with orange piping!!! I need a bookshelf to put them on though-better look at Craigslist!
