Fun in Mini Apples

I am having too much fun with my friends here in Mini Apples to stop and post in my blog - sorry! I have lots of pictures and will hopefully get a few cute ones up soon. We've done so much stuff since moving here - going to the lake, playing at many different parks, lots of trips to the Home Dee-po (sometimes in the race car cart!), hanging out at the ice cream shops with my friends, dinner at my friend Cal's, holding hands with KP, and, of course, getting one very large knot and cut on my forehead (Daddy calls it my first rock-n-roll injury).

Some of my favorite new words: Texas! (which I learned at the tail-end of my trip to Texas), Bevo, Balloon and Yucky.

Also, during a trip to Wal-Mart yesterday I became enamored with a pair of suede gloves. They were on clearance from the winter (only $1!!!), and chances are they won't fit me properly until I'm seven, but I had to have them. I like to put them on my hands and clap, or just wear them when I'm sitting around. I wore one while I was eating lunch, I even went down for my nap wearing them.

Buh-Bah Alpharetta beauties

This is my Alpharetta playgroup. For those of you who don't know, I'm the big stud getting the smooch laid on me by pretty Miss Leya. These are all my Georgia girl friends. I'll miss them.

Ugggh....Mustard

Note to self, mustard is kinda gross. Especially Whole Food Kids Organic Mustard. I'll go one step further, Whole Foods Mustard is really, really gross with pears. Just trust me on this one.

In other news...

Yesterday I turned 18 months old! Mom and Daddy took me for a photo shoot, which I rocked.

Here is one picture from the shoot:

I *loved* this rocking chair! Mom loves my red shoes.

Mourning my blue hat.

I must have thrown my favorite blue hat overboard the stroller without Mom noticing sometime on Friday. The very first and most awesome hat I've ever had is lost. Mom is very sad. We even went back through the parking lot yesterday to look for it. It is lost. Mom is very very sad.

My new favorites.

*Smart Dogs

I love Smart Dogs, just like Mom. Today for lunch I ate one and a half whole Smart Dogs! I could probably win a hot dog eating contest if the dogs provided were Smart Dogs. I am a great eater.

* Airplanes

I saw an airplane flying above our house yesterday. I was very excited about this, pointing up and squawking to let Mom know about it. Since I was so excited Mom ran in and quick learned the sign for airplane so she could teach me. Now I know it. This morning I got up and walked to the back door, looking up and signing for airplane. I went to my friend Leya's house this morning and told her about the airplane. I keep talking about the plane. Planes are cool.

* Lights

When I first got to Leya's this morning I was a little upset because Mom left but then I noticed another really cool thing: a huge light hanging from their ceiling. The lighting section at Home Depot calms me down if I've been in the cart for too long at that store (it's kind of boring for a baby!) so it's no surprise that I was distracted by looking at that big awesome light in Leya's house. I even showed it to Mom when she came back to get me. I asked if we could get a big hanging light in our new house but I don't know if she understood me. Mom needs to learn the sign for light. I better go tell her....

Sinko day My-oh

So yesterday was like this day where a bunch of Americans (mostly white people) go out and celebrate Sinko day My-oh. I think it has something to do with Mexico and France. I'm not for certain most Americans know why they are celebrating, but let me tell you, they do.

So my parents (still free to any home) loaded me up in the Jetta and headed to our local Mexican dive. They both quinched their thirst with margaritas but dadda's was much taller than mama's. I got to eat a bunch of chips, guacamole, and dadda's favorite dish, fish tacos (pescado?). I also tore it up on the dance floor to the tunes of "Blind Drive." "Deaf Drive" would have been a more apt name in my humble opinion. Either way, I shook it like a Polaroid picture.

During dinner, I got my very own maraca. Mama had to put up with a drunk dadda, "Blind Drive," and a messy baby and all she got was a free Sinko day My-oh t-shirt. Rough life. Dadda took her for ice cream afterwards though. Viva Mexico.

Free parents to any home.

Two parents, a Mom and a Daddy, can be yours! They are cramping my style right now so I've decided to see if I can give them away. They will make you wear a diaper, they will make you sit in your highchair to eat, they will clothe you, bathe you, read to you, play with you and shower you with an abundance of affection. It is a great hardship for any baby, but if you'd like to take on this challenge that I've been dealt please respond. Email for pic of said parents. I can confirm that they both have good teeth.

My First Signs

Inspired by Cal (http://calmiller.blogspot.com/) I picked up my first signing book today called My First Signs. Just before Easter I started picking up a few of this things Mom's been signing: "more" "eat" "milk" and "drink" so I think this is a great next step. My friend Cal knows lots of signs (he even has signs good manners!) so both Mom and I are very excited to learn more. Well, once I get over being sick we'll tackle that. Right now avoiding a nose wiping is first on my baby agenda.

I am sick.

I've been running a fever since Tuesday morning of this past week. Tuesday afternoon after my nap my temperature was 104, under the arm, so Mom rushed me to the pediatrician. The doctor checked me over and couldn't find anything wrong (aside from the fever), then Mom and I hung out most of the afternoon waiting for me to pee into a plastic bag so they could test my pee. Wow, you should have seen how everyone got all excited when, at 4:45 p.m., I finially filled that bag up. There were four nurses there cheering for me, so of course I got in on the celebration and clapped for myself. That was fun. Feeling sick and having a fever for the rest of the week was not. I am still sick, but my temperature has gone done to under 100 as of this morning and Mama has me on orange Triaminic for my clear runny nose. I have been a bit of a monster this week, so I know my parents will be glad to have me back to my usual charming self.

Whew.

We are finally home. I can't tell you how happy I am to be sleeping in my own crib. Funny thing, I am actually there right now. (Pretty amazing that I am posting to my blog telepathically, huh?)

So, quick update: Mama and Daddy found a house in Mini Apples. I got to check it out today and it's pretty cool. It has lots of doors. I am fascinated by doors right now. Open. Close. Open. Close. I am even tall enough to turn the handle.

I also got to hang with my friends, Cal and Kennedy this week. I had so much fun (except for the lack of sleep!) but my parents kind-of dorked out and forgot the camera so I'm going to have to rely on my friends for photographic proof of my visit.

Easter in New Orleans

I've had such a fun time hanging out with Mama, Daddy, Grampa and Granny in Gnawlins! Here are some pictures from our trip...

I walked!

I gave Mama her birthday present - I took my first official steps today! Woo-hoo! Mama and Daddy were jumping up and down and clapping their handing, totally spazing out. (I wonder what they were so excited about - ?)

So, here's how it went down: I was standing, holding onto my rocking elephant and I decided it would be fun to jump on Mama. Without thinking about it I let go of the elephant and took two big, kind-of sturdy-looking steps to my mom. Then I fell over on her and giggled. It was great.

I walked lots more after that, back and forth to Mama and Daddy, from Mama to the couch (while Daddy recorded it), and from my playwall to my walker. Walking is fun, but my paws are still a bit big and I fall down a lot. I hit my head on the side of the couch and on the closet door upstairs. I may have a knot, a bruise for sure. Ah, battles scars of my first foray into walking. More stories to come, I am sure, but tomorrow I am off to a place called Gnawlins (something about music, beignets, and gold, purple and green beads...???) to spend Easter with my Granny and Grampa.

I've had a fun week!

My great-grandparents (aka Mom-Mom and Pop), my great-aunt (Aunt Pattie) and my Aunt Jen all came down from Baltimore to see me, Mama and Daddy. Here are a few pictures from our visit...

Image hosting by Photobucket
Pre-visit: I *loved* climbing and jumping over the couch cushions as Mama set up the sofa bed. We should do this all the time!

Image hosting by Photobucket
Pop was making me laugh *so* much! Kisses are great.

Image hosting by Photobucket
Aunt Jen amazed me with her bubble gum bubbles. She even let me pop them - sticky, sticky, sticky.

Image hosting by Photobucket
I rode the carousel with Pop and Aunt Jen. Isn't my aunt pretty?

Image hosting by Photobucket
Oh my gosh! The Georgia Aquarium is *amazing*!!! I loved it so much. Here I'm trying to show Mama and Daddy all the neat fish. I liked going up to the glass and tap, tap, tapping. Hello, fish!

Mini Apples bound

Mama and Daddy told me a couple days ago that we are moving to Mini Apples (?) in a couple of months. I really have no concept of time, but I am pretty sure that my friends Cal and KP are there - and I know I like applesauce - so I figure Mini Apples is gonna be pretty cool.

I must still be hungry

Because I just ate one of my orange cheese crackers out of Emma's dog food bowl. At least I picked one of my crackers instead of a piece of dog food, right?
