Sole playgroupers.

Our Minneapolis playgroup meets on Thursday afternoons. Today we were the only ones there. Guess the bad weather this morning scared away our friends. But my kids had fun in the wading pool.

Here are some shots to tide over the grandparents. :)

Sammy was playing baseball with a sand rake and a soaker ball. Funny kid.

The trouble with Freddie is

Whenever I tried to load the dishwasher he unloads it. And then I find purple markers where the dirty silverware used to be. So if you come to our house and their are piles of dirty and disgusting dishes, you know why.

Also, I found butter spray in the bathtub today.

And pasta, couscous and the like have been scattered around the kitchen floor more than I can remember. (at least it cooks in boiling water to clean it off, right?)

And, he likes to prank call.

B&W pretties.

Not sure how this happened, but I tried to get a pic of Sammy and me. He was uncooperative and this is the outcome. I think it's kinda cool.
Photobucket
He is a love but SUCH a turkey.

Splash!

This afternoon Sammy filled up the kiddie pools and water table, and the splashing began.
Photobucket

...and wandered off...
Photobucket
It is still so precious to see him toddling!

Freddie LOVES splashing! I tried to get a good picture of him raising his arms up and splashing down. Alas, this is the best I could do. He's a speedy splasher.

Another Tuesday morning adventure with friends.

We met at a wadding pool this morning. My kids, as usual, spent a good amount of time snacking.

4th of July

Was anything but spectacular. We took the boys to Valley Fair, an amusement park south of the Twin Cities. It was a huge bust. There were no lines, it wasn't crowded or too hot, and there are a TON of kiddie rides. Want to guess how many rides we rode?

Photobucket

Photobucket
Look at the trashcan. Proof that we were really there. And rode NO RIDES. grrrrr....

This one didn't mind. He always has a good time.
Photobucket

But still. Happy 4th, y'all. God bless America!

I cannot decide which one of these pictures of Isaac I like the best. I love this kid!

Nokomis Beach!

We met up with friends at Nokomis Beach today and, unlike last Tuesday, the kids went along with the plans to have fun. Hooray!

Here are a few pictures. More can be found in a Flickr set: Water Fun

I love this picture of Sammy. It looks like he is the only one in the water.
Photobucket

Freddie had loads of fun in the sand. And splashing in the beach. He pretty much loved everything about this morning's adventure.
Photobucket

Even battling it out again with Isaac. ha!

The walker.

And because you wanted to see the heart on his booty. It's very manly.
Photobucket

He's very pleased with himself.

Handsome Sammy

Our church had one of it's first outdoor summer services at Minnehaha Falls this weekend. The weather is *perfect* for this today! Just beautiful. And I managed to get a couple sweet shots of my sweet boy. :)

Sammy's clothesline

My creative and green-thinking boy! He thought this up and rigged it up all by himself in the play garden. We didn't help at all. I'm so proud.

He had to hang Donald Duck's shirt up because it got wet. (It wasn't really wet.)

Hanging out on Friday

I'm bummed because it's such a challenge to get a good picture of Sammy these days. But he's what I have, folks. He was still in jammies.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Sammy was singing something here.
Photobucket

We were at home today because Freddie had a 102 degree temp. This is how I kept him cool....

...insert baby in fridge.
Photobucket

He is sick, but that didn't stop him from WALKING! He still falls a bunch (mostly every few steps still), but he's loving it. Aside from being feverish and cranky and all.

Sharing...

is not for Freddie.
Photobucket

Isaac kept trying to climb in the car with Freddie, and Freddie was *not* happy about it. Isaac didn't even mind when the car fell over, nearly on top of him, but as you can tell from Freddie's face he felt differently.

Tuesday at Cupcake in St Paul

Photobucket
Sammy had a mint chocolate chip cupcake. Then he had a chocolate cupcake. No complaints.

Photobucket
Freddie ate the cake part of my Moo Dot cupcake (chocolate). Then he ate the cake part of a Plain Jane cupcake (vanilla). He complained when there was nothing left to eat.

Tuesday at the Splash Pad

We arrived later than our friends because of Freddie's morning nap, so the boys spent most of our time there having a snack. They went through the sprinklers for all of 10ish minutes or so, ate some more and then Sammy begged to go out and play at the park with his friends. (I was trying to avoid that since I hauled the kids all the way to St Louis Park to play at the Splash Pad, not the park. We have a very nice park across the street from our house, tyvm.) Since my friends were at the park, too, I caved.

Freddie's first word!

Yesterday Freddie said "Dog!" He loves dogs. His dog sounds more like "dawg" because he so cool.

Hiwatha Park

The boys and I biked to the park this morning for some fun. Here's what they were up to:

They are so happy!

Photobucket
Yeah, there was a little tiff over who was going to steer the boat.

I actually met another cloth diapering mom there. She only CDs at night, though, which I thought was weird. I think nighttime CDing is waaaay more intimidating than daytime for newbs, so I figure if you're already in for the night why not go all the way? And that way you are awake to admire their adorable cloth diapered booties. :)

First steps!

Freddie took his first steps yesterday! Woohoo! He was holding onto his glider and was after something I had. He let go, took two steps, stood there for a second thinking aobut what he was doing and then fell down. Hooray for my big boy!

Oh, and now he is so happy pushing the walker around the house. I say he's walking by this time next week!

Cookies for breakfast.

I made cookies last night at Sammy's request. He was so sad to be done eating his cookies last night that I promised him one in the morning. I know. I'm a terible sucker for my boy. And I am not convinced Freddie is really my child as he had yet to eat an entire cookie. Something is wrong with that boy.

Photobucket
He's still so tired, but he remembered my promise!

Photobucket

And just because they were cute and brotherly this morning, here's a picture of their morning jam. Sammy was singing and Freddie was dancing. Together they were super cute.
